Remote Assistance For People Not In Rapid City

Live in a galaxy far far away?

Want my help with your site?

We can make that happen.

It’s shocking, but not everyone lives in Rapid City. (Who knew? Right?) If you are in some far away land I can still help you out thanks to the magic of the internet. Well, magic and cat photos.

I can support your WordPress installation remotely.

What I must know before agreeing to assist you remotely:

  1. Exactly what you need me to accomplish. Not simply the task, the intention & desired result as well.
  2. Your time line, when must the work be completed.
  3. The URL of your website(s) and any required logon information.

Contact me, we’ll work through the details and specifics. Once done with that I will give you an estimate of how long it will take and your cost. I will not work beyond the billable hours I quoted you without getting your approval first.

If you are requesting my help with an existing website I will need an administrative level login for your site. Depending on what needs to be done I may also require FTP access and/or cPanel access. For security reasons you should create a WordPress login and FTP account only for me, that way when I’m done you can remove them if you so desire, thus preventing me from coming back in. If I require cPanel access I’ll have to use your password but once I’m finished you can change it to keep me out.

Of course if you want future/on-going assistance from me you shouldn’t do those things – but I stand by my commitment of you having total control of your site and not being obligated to me for anything in the future.

When I log in to your site the first thing I will do is create a backup of your databases and WordPress filesystem and save it locally. If you don’t have plugins installed that perform these functions I will install them and create the backups. Then I will get to work on the task you need done.

Payment and Pricing:

The first ever hour I work for you is billed at $85.  There is a one hour minimum.  After that all additional hours are billed at $65/hour rounded up in 15 minute increments.

If actual time worked goes over the estimate you have already paid for I will send you a PayPal invoice for additional time worked..

Payment is made through PayPal or personal check via snail mail. Payment for the estimated hours of work must be made in advance. Please do not pay me until we’ve discussed what must be done and I’ve agreed to do it. Work will begin after payment is received.

Disclaimer of Entropy:

While I will exercise all caution with your website understand that I am not responsible for lost information or content nor for the total destruction of your WordPress installation. If I do break it I will attempt to fix it at no additional cost to you. But it may not be repairable. This is why my first action is always to back up your databases and file system. I don’t set out to break things but the reality is that it can happen.

Ultimately it is your responsibility to backup your website, unless you have a maintenance package agreement with me.
